Privacy Policy
The short version
- We don't collect anything about the people being spotted. No names, photos, descriptions or free text. A report is just "a +1 at this gym at this hour".
- If you sign in, we keep an anonymous account ID from Apple or Google so we can stop spam. We don't keep your name or email.
- We use your location when you report, only to check you're at the gym. We wipe that location from the report after 3 days.
- Nobody else ever sees who tapped what. Other users only see totals across at least 3 people.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use third-party trackers. You can delete your account anytime in the app.
This policy explains what Baddie Radar ("Baddie Radar", "we", "us") collects when you use the Baddie Radar apps for iPhone and Android (the "App") and this website, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email support@labcapy.dev.
1. The people you spot
Baddie Radar is about places and times, never individuals. The App has no way to name, photograph, describe, tag, rate or contact anyone, and we never receive any information that identifies a person who is "spotted". A report contains only the gym, the time, the type of report (baddie vibe +1 to +3, or capy) and the reporter's own account, which is never shown to anyone.
2. What we collect
| Data | When | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account identifier: the stable, app-specific user ID that Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In gives us, plus your confirmation that you're 18+ | When you sign in | To run your account, apply report limits and block abuse | Until you delete your account |
| Reports: gym, date, day of week, hour, baddie vibe (+1, +2 or +3, set by how long you held the button) or capy | When you tap | To build the gym heatmaps | Up to 90 days, then deleted. Older reports count less over time. |
| Precise location at the moment you report | When you report | To check you're within about half a mile of the gym, and to spot fake reports | Removed from the report after 3 days |
| Approximate area you're viewing: coordinates sent with map, gym and leaderboard requests | When you browse | To show gyms near you and, when signed out, limit the map to 5 miles | Not stored with your account; may appear in server logs (below) |
| Favorites, gym requests and problem reports, including any message or contact detail you choose to include | When you use those features | To save your favorites, add missing gyms and handle problems or opt-outs | Until you remove them, delete your account, or we resolve the request |
| Sign-in tokens | While you're signed in | To keep you signed in securely | Until they expire or you sign out |
| Server logs: IP address, request time, request path and parameters, device and app info in the request | Every request | Security, debugging and keeping the service up | Kept by our cloud logging, normally around 30 days |
We don't ask for or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or a location history. If Apple or Google share an email with us during sign-in, we don't keep it. The App doesn't contain advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. Location
The App asks for location permission so it can show gyms near you and check that you're at a gym when you report. Location is read while you use the App, not in the background. You can turn location off in your phone's settings: you can still browse by moving the map if you're signed in, but you won't be able to report.
4. What other people see
Other users see heat levels and rounded report counts for a gym and hour. A gym-hour stays hidden until at least 3 different people have reported it within the recent window. Nobody, including other users and gyms, can see your account, your individual reports or your location.
5. Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share data only:
- With service providers that run the service for us under contract, mainly Google Cloud (hosting, database and logs, in the United States).
- With sign-in and map providers: Apple and Google handle sign-in under their own privacy policies. The map in the App is drawn by Apple Maps (iPhone) or Google Maps (Android), which receive the map area you view under their own policies.
- When required by law, or to protect the safety of people, the service or the public, and only as much as needed.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, where this policy keeps applying to data collected under it.
6. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account anytime in the App: Me → Delete account. That deletes your account and all of your reports right away. Copies in backups and logs expire on their normal schedule.
- Undo a report within 30 seconds of tapping.
- Access, correct or delete your data, or ask us a question, by emailing support@labcapy.dev. We'll answer within 30 days and may need to confirm the request comes from your account.
- California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know, delete and correct personal information, and to not be discriminated against for using them. We don't sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- EEA/UK residents can also object to or restrict processing, ask for portability, and complain to their local data protection authority. Our legal bases are running the service you asked for (contract), keeping it fair and spam-free (legitimate interests) and legal obligations.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS only) and at rest in Google Cloud. Access is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold small on purpose.
8. Age
Baddie Radar is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.
9. Gyms
Gym names and locations come from public map data. A gym can ask to be removed from Baddie Radar by emailing support@labcapy.dev. See Support.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the App before it takes effect.
